7th Bead Soup Blog Party--First Reveal!

Thanks again to Lori Anderson, today is the first reveal for the 7th Bead Soup Blog Party!  Though I am very happy with what I received, I admit again, to not being a jewelry designer.  I only hope I have not disappointed my partner, Jan Petek of Pepper Tree Designs.

Here is what I made with Jan's beautiful glass beads...an asymmetrical charm necklace.  The beautiful glass heart focal and charms are so lovely and the little blue beads-I didn't waste one!  And the lovely closure, perfect for the silver chain...in my eyes anyway.

Enameled beads are something I've never worked with before but was not stymied with them at all, tho, I did not get them joined the way I wanted them.  I wanted to do wire work, but without knowing how to do that, I managed to do them this way.  The earrings are simply delightful to wear, so light and yet they have a lot of movement, which I adore.

Well, thanks for stopping by and please leave a comment and join my blog if you would.  Leave a note for me and I'll join yours if you'd like.

take care...

Here is the list of hops!  Enjoy!

New Beads 3-22-13

Unloaded the kiln this morning.  This is most of the things from it this morning.  I'm thinking I'm going to make some earrings or something with some of the pieces you won't see until later!

The bottom bunch in the second picture are spoken for.  Everything else is up for sale.  Let me know if you are interested.

Holiday Hop

This was the cutest idea, I am liking this Hopping and this was another good one.  What I wasn't happy with was with the idea I had of putting my piece together for Marlene and it would NOT work out the way I wanted.

Marlene Cupo sent me the cutest polymer clay piece.  Our theme was National Dog Biscuit day which just happens to be February 23, my husband's birthday.  Here is the piece Marlene made for me!

Isn't it adorable?  Rusty in the doghouse, Millie just hanging around with her box of dog biscuits close by!  She is daddy's girl after all!

Here is the piece I sent Marlene.  I wanted it to be a charm bracelet or even a charm necklace and I wasn't happy with either, so when all else fails, I make a key chain!

I'd made these charms last year and the little flower separators the same time.  I really like the speckled stoneware, as you probably know by now!  So all of them are impressed with dog bones and dog paws with the little doggie in the middle to celebrate National Dog Biscuit day!
Marlene, I hope you liked it.

Some New Things

New things from the kiln this morning.  I am very happy with them!

Another running horse cuff, beads with impressions of a safety pin and the sides of a nail cutter.  Made some nice impressions I think.  I love using unusual things!
Horseshoes, starfish, a little furry creature, not sure-looks like a weasel, some head pins, not sure how those are going to work.  Butterflies, dragonflies, owl and bird.  The curvy cuff with charms for earrings is an interesting piece.
I also made some things for others that are spoken for and a few new things that I don't want to show until Stringing lets me know if they are interested in them or not.
Hope you enjoyed looking!

No Muddin' For Me!

Two and a half weeks ago I got sick and couldn't play in clay.  Then it was our birthdays, stayed out of clay, this week I've been sewing for our Humane Society Shelter.  Would you like to see what?  Well, myself and a couple other ladies are sewing cat blocks to make a quilt.  The colors are vibrant and when it comes together I think it will be cute.  Here are a couple of the blocks I've done.

I am so hoping I can get back into my clay, I am missing it something awful!

Well, thanks for stopping by and take care
