This has been a busy week and for not good reasons, but we got an answer to prayer today, so I am very happy about that.
My husband is going into surgery Monday to repair damaged vertebrae that is years old. The doc says he has no idea how long they have been this damaged. Scary, as my husband doesn't take good care of himself and is not careful with his body. He was a football player when he was a kid, need I say more? I can tell you, he still would be if he could! God bless him...if we get him thru this surgery and back on his feet without much more aggravation, I will be so happy and praise God for it!
Please pray for him to have a successful surgery and a good recovery. It's all I want...for right now.
Thank you!

Tiny Dancers...do you see them?
Am very happy with what I got out of the kiln this morning:
This is the majority of the larger pieces, I have all the beads to show yet!
Several pieces have sold already too, that just makes my day.
A few pieces didn't get hot enough and I should fire them again at some point.
I've been in front of this computer all day, so I think I'm going to call it quits for the night! Good night, thanks for stopping by and take care!

Finally!
Got all the glazing and loading the kiln finished yesterday. I am anxious as always to get this one fired. Will work on that tomorrow and won't be able to open the kiln until Tuesday.
The weather was ugly hot today...how anyone can enjoy it is beyond me. Sat outside while the dog was in the yard and it felt like I was cooking! Terrible!!! Maybe it's the medicine I take, but I cannot stand being too hot. But it was a beautiful sunny day as long as I was inside under the AC...thank goodness for AC!
I have yet to plug in the new baby kiln. Maybe I can do that Tuesday and get it ready to use.
I found the shell mold today that I've been thinking about and looking for for two days. My mind finally remembered where I saw it last and sure enough, there it was. Why does it take so long to remember where I put things? My mom could put something away and years later know exactly where she put it! Never learned that trick!
Rusty is in operation mode. He is ready to have it over with. He damaged his neck vertebrae who knows how long ago and next Monday the doc is going to remove the damaged bits. We don't know yet if he will have to have a cage put in, I guess we will know after a while. If you are a praying person, I would appreciate your prayers for him to have a successful operation and a speedy and safe recovery. We are not good patients, but I hope he will take care of himself and let his body heal properly. He is already worried about the lawn...I can mow, I used to do it! He is old school and doesn't not consider that "women's work". On the other hand, I would rather do that than have to do dishes. But he won't trade jobs with me! Wonder why?
Well, thanks for stopping by...take care!

The Glazing Begins
Glazing has begun and I got one kiln shelf of things done today. Didn't even start on the little bitty things and we have to go get his tests done Friday, so it will be Monday before I can fire if then. I am thankful that everyone seems so patient with me!

The Last Two Days
The last two days I have been wet sanding. Here is a glimpse of things to come!
This is the majority of the new things. Lots of repeats, a lot of these are already spoken for, which is so nice!
Whacked and Smacked are yet to come. Beads that I used an old Victorian button knife on. This knife has been sitting in the vase where I hold all my clay tools, I finally got it out and whacked at the clay beads. I think they are fun...we shall see how they do!

Making Beads Isn't Pretty!
Here is a look at my new stash of beads that I just made this morning...
I get muddy almost to my elbows...just like when I really cook--I get flour all over the house it seems!
Just glad that making beads is so much more fun!
Well, here's to another weekend. Life is sure going by fast and I am having such a good time, goes hand in hand, right?
Thanks for stopping by, take care!
