Making...for the Bead Soup

Made my focal, charms and some beads for the Bead Soup exchange.  I have to find some coordinating beads, chain, and a closure!  Getting ready for the swap!

I am so excited to find out who my partner will be, where will they be from and...hopefully they will like what I've made them!

I am also excited to be making a few things for a shop in PA that is willing to try to sell a few of my items.  That is wild, or at least it is for me!  Will definitely keep you up on that as it goes.  Bless me please!

Bead Soup Time!

Yummy, yummy for the eyes--instead of tummy!  It's time to join Lori Anderson's Bead Soup!  Find out about it here:

http://lorianderson-beadsoupblogparty.blogspot.com/2013/01/get-your-bead-soup-cooking-now-and-what.html

I really enjoyed the last one, it was my first and as soon as I saw the beads I received I knew what I wanted to do with them...hmmm...I wonder if this time will be as easy?  Somehow, I doubt it!

Snowy and cold here, if you have to be out, please be safe!

Take care, thanks for stopping by!

AJE Earring Challenge

I forgot to blog again...this has been a rough few days, forgetting much, don't like it!
Scares me, okay enough.

Here are the earrings I made with ceramic stoneware beads that I impressed with an old deer bone that I found on an outing a couple of years ago.  I loved that bone as soon as I saw it and drug it home, cleaned it well and started using it on my clay.  I will take a picture of it and show you tomorrow...if I remember!

I used white metal findings and square glass beads on the dangles.  I love those little beads, wish I had many many more of them.  Must find more small square beads!  Okay, you all, enough silliness.
Thanks for stopping by and take care.

These ceramic stoneware beads were made last year and just kind of hung around with nothing to do until this AJE Earring Challenge happened.  They also have glass bead dangles and white metal findings.

The fifth and sixth set of earrings that I made...well!  The crescents were made years ago and are a little more orange than they appear here.  The turquoise set--I love those creamy white glass beads!  The little spindle bead caps were made by me a few weeks ago.  Thanks for looking!

My 3rd and 4th pair of earrings for my 2nd week AJE Earring Challenge.  The Owl Face earrings I've been making for a while and the chains are from a necklace that I am recycling.  The Green Melon Ball earrings have square and glass bead dangles.  All are on white metal findings.

I hope I'm doing this right...when there are a lot of rules to follow, I get lost in the maze!  Someone clue me in!  Thanks for looking!

The first reveal for the AJE Earring Challenge is here:

They had fantastic choices to choose from, that is for sure!

As I've told you many times, I do not consider myself a jewelry maker, but I do some earrings and easy things now and then.  Here are the earrings I made for the AJE Challenge:

For as long as I can remember I've loved animals.  Dogs and horses especially.  Since horses aren't something that the husband will let live in the house with us, dogs are more practical.  And I'd have so many it would be like a zoo around here if I could do it!  Thank goodness Rusty reins me in!  Anyway, back to the earrings.
I made the paw disks, black beads and brown bead caps. Thanks for looking!

A Few New Things

Here are a few new things out of the kiln today.  The Flower Beads are all sold, but if you'd like one, just let me know.
The Twisted Beads are large, just about 1 1/2" across.  Remember rolling up magazine pages or newspaper?  That is where this idea came from...rattling around some old childhood memories!  More Wings and Hearts.  Let me know what you think!

Thanks for stopping by, take care!

Memories and Thanks Blog Hop

I hate to complain but may I preface this by saying I've been sick the last two weeks...please forgive me for not having this quite up to par.

The necklace I made reminds me of my Mom.  She is the subject of my Memories and Thanks blog.  I have wonderful memories of my Mom and like everyone else, sad ones as well.  But this one is for all the happy ones...

My mom taught me a lot when I was a kid that I couldn't wait to get away from when I got older, but the joke is on me, because the older I get, the more like her I become.  And I know now that is not a bad thing.  One thing was recycling and not throwing things away that you could possibly use in the future!  She tended to hoard, she was not a hoarder like we know them today, but she didn't throw much away that wasn't trash!  So the beige beads in this set, are beads that I recycled from a necklace I bought from a yard sale.  Mom would like that.  The rectangle beads are new and for the life of me, I cannot remember what they are!  Sorry about that!

Here is the necklace set that I made last year, but it reminds me of my mom...soft and sweet, pink and tan, and to me, beautiful, even if I say so myself.  I love you Mom, think of you so often and know I will see you again.  Much love!

Something New

I hope to be added to the AJE Earring Challenge, not because I need something else to do, but I need to learn how to use some of my own things in jewelry and this challenge sounds like that would be headed in the right direction!
Doesn't it sound like fun?  Check it out!

New Things 1-3-13

Here's a peek of the new things from the kiln this morning.  Bought some new glazes and an happy with most of the results.  Will have to try the new glazes on some white clay and will probably like the results better.

There are horses, trees, doggie sets, wings, new bead shapes and spindles.

Let me know what you think!
